Christine Bourchier "Remnant Remains' Exhibition

In 2023 I had a visceral reaction to the removal of a dead redgum on public land near my home. The strength of my reaction to the loss of this tree and its towering silvery ghostlike presence, heightened my awareness of the remaining dead trees and initiated the photographs, charcoal rubbings and 3D works in this exhibition

Polytropos Rennie Pearson and Oscar West Celtic music of many twists and turns

Polytropos is Rennie Pearson and Oscar West

Celtic music of many twists and turns

Tickets $25 buy online at below link

https://facebook.com/events/s/polytropos-live-in-yinnar/797457925548979/

Combining the beautiful and spirited interplay of traditional instruments, Polytropos perform tunes and songs from Scotland, Ireland, France and Canada. Arranging the sounds of the fiddle, flute, guitar, Scottish smallpipes, mandolin, voice and Irish whistle in curious and adventurous ways, their diverse range of tunes will take the listener around the world of traditional music!

Kiwi multi-instrumentalists Oscar West and Rennie Pearson are the traditional music duo Polytropos. They are masterful, passionate players of Celtic music, arranged in an adventurous, conversational way.

"Polytropos" comes from ancient Greek and appears hundreds of times in Homer's Odyssey. It's many possible translations range from "much-travelled" to "many-faced" to "a thing of many twists and turns." All of these connotations feel perfect to describe the music we seek to create: dynamic, much-wandering journeys through tunes songs and a musical tradition that had travelled half a world to reach us in New Zealand.

Polytropos released their first album in 2020. Since their debut concert at Wellington Folk Festival in 2011 their unique, charismatic stage presence and playing style has been a hit with audiences at festivals and tours across New Zealand and Australia from tiny churches to big stages.

The Arc PrintRoom is pleased to announce a professional development opportunity for artists.

A Master Class in PhotoGravure will be conducted by Silvi Glautter

taking place over two days. Silvi Glautter is a leading expert in the

contemporary photogravure technique, her workshops are in demand across

Australia and globally. Her skills are utilised by leading Australian artists

working in print and other mediums and her own work is collected by art

institutions nationally and internationally.

A photogravure is a hand printed photomechanical print created from an etched polymer printing plate. Also known as a photo etching, or a photo intaglio print, this method lends itself to photographic work as well as scanned freeform drawings, collages and works created using digital imaging programs. The original image becomes a rich, finly detailed, textured and individual

Intaglio etching, which is the resulting combination of contemporary digital processes and materials, fine art cotton papers, archival carbon based inks and the traditional etching press techniques. The photopolymer photogravure print highlights textures, tones, forms, light and shadows. Attributed to the raised ink lines, relief qualities and embossing trademark of this etching technique.

An Exhibition by artist Shikha Yadav Transcendent Fusion: A Vibrant Abstract Collection

"Transcendent Fusion: A Vibrant Abstract Collection"

"Transcendent Fusion" is a captivating collection of abstract artworks that transcends reality through the fusion of ink in water captured through high-speed photography and the vibrant interplay of oil and acrylic colours on canvas. Each artwork measures 36 * 48 inches in size. The collection showcases my mastery in creating mesmerizing compositions where vibrant hues and fluid forms come alive.

Each artwork in this collection invites viewers on a visual journey, blurring the boundaries between imagination and reality. The ethereal patterns formed by ink in water freeze in time, transformed into vibrant and enigmatic abstract art. The intermingling of colours, textures, and forms ignites a sensory experience, while the dynamic strokes and layers of oil and acrylic paints add depth and vibrancy.

"Transcendent Fusion" celebrates the spontaneity and unpredictability of life, reminding viewers to embrace the unknown. The collection's vibrant and colourful nature captivates the eyes, offering a symphony of hues that evoke joy, optimism, and vitality.
